I'm a recent transplant to DC for grad school, ergo the pretentious latin title. I love the city and think it offers a lot for a foreigner and small time history buff like myself. It would, of course, be much more enjoyable if I had a like-minded belle to share the experience. Hence this posting.

I enjoy films (love Bogart, Woody Allen, Fellini, Pink Panther, Monty Python etc). I'm passionate about soccer, rock music, literature (Lolita and Zorba the Greek are probably my favorite books). I love trivia and like debating politics, world affairs, the use and abuse of "thou" in the King James Bible, the latest hollywood gossip, mating habits of the two toed sloth.. anything really. I'm also a big fan of walking around cities, its especially lovely during the evening. I wouldn't say I'm very outdoorsy unless its lounging about in the park on a sunny day or going to the beach, the occasional hike or white water rafting. I'm more in my element at the museum, sporting events, and parties. I used to be quite the ballroom dancer in college but a lack of regular use has rendered my once nimble limbs somewhat rusty. Perhaps the right girl could give me some incentive..

Life has made me something of a cynic but I still nurture my romantic side.. Everything from reading e.e. cummings to feeding grapes (it can be quite a sensual experience). Oh ya, I occasionally indulge in (and enjoy) 420 - which can be a pretty sensual experience too.

I strongly believe in having a drink before, after, during, and possibly in between meals. You can do that and not be an alcoholic - this might be a hard thing for Americans to understand but its the basis for a couple of wonderful civilizations in Europe! No, I'm not from Europe (just lived there), I just believe in employing the best practices of every culture.

I've travelled a fair bit (lived for more than 3 months in 4 very different countries), speak 4 languages, and like to think I'm worldly and broadminded.. Not very religious (making sense is sorta important to me). Above all, I believe in honesty and chilling the f out. I'm very easy going laid back and would expect the same from a partner.

Physically, I'm 26 years old (Gemini - for those of you who are into that), about 6'2, 185, reasonably fit, black hair, tan skin, glasses etc. As far as looks go, I think I'm fairly good looking without being Adonis. But you can judge for yourself if you send a pic.

Looking for someone with reasonably similar interests for some companionship and fun. You know who you are, just be kind enough to let me know too..
